I'm off tomorrow and Ms. Graham will be in for me. I hope you all behave very well. I've left the essay assignment for you to do and some math problems. You can do the math problems with the others in your group if you need help.

The final math test will be on Thursday. We will be starting integers when we come back from the holidays.

Thank you Lloyd for congratulating Yemaan. I would also like to thank him for representing 8Galli. Just try your best...that's all we can ask. Tomorrow, I'm going to show the class the movie about how badly the Natives were treated. I think you'll like it. We will also do some work on Mythology. Congratulations to Sohum for making it to the semi-finals in track and field. Perhaps, I'll let everyone join in on another auction tomorrow!

Math and Mythology

Just wondering how everything is going. Are you enjoying the mythology unit? Are you having any problems with the math? I will drop off your first math tests tomorrow morning. Don't worry too much...this test was for me to see if you are understanding the math. The test is only 10% of your grade. You will have another math test on Monday. Now, is the time to start clearing up and questions you have or things you don't understand. Ms. Meynell will take up the test tomorrow and you should follow closely along to clarify the math.
I'm still getting reports about naughty boys...you know who you are. This needs to stop. The month of June brings really good things...don't ruin your fun by misbehaving while I'm away.

Changing Blog Address

I'm trying to decide whether it's better to simply change the blog address or actually investigate the individual/s who are penetrating this blog. I know the person/people involved are students at Valley Park so it won't be that difficult to track them down. It sure would be a shame to have a student expelled in the last month of school. It's amazing what the police can track down. We once had a student writing bad things about another student while claiming to be someone else. They were charged with uttering and expelled from VP.

First of all...I hope to be back by Wednesday.
Sohum - You are going on a field trip on Wednesday so I will see you on Thursday. I will give your brother a copy of the outline for the media assignment. You can present on Friday or Monday...but don't worry about it.

The homework for today was to complete the math - however, I just got home from the hospital so I won't be taking $50 from you if you didn't complete it.

As I wrote on the board, I will pay you $100 when I get back. If I here about any behaviour issues though, you will have to pay for those. I know that won't happen and that I'll be proud to read the reports from the supply teacher.

I want to take you, as a class, to the bookfair on Wednesday or Thursday. If you want to purchase something from the bookfair you should bring your money. There are lots of fun stuff to buy and some great books too. They money you spend goes right back to the library to buy books for everyone.

Comic Life

I want you to plan out the comic you will be creating in Comic Life. First, you need to pick an issue that appeared during the organizational period of Confederation. The issue could be from a particular province. For example, what were the issues for New Brunswick vs. Quebec? If you want to concentrate on Quebec then perhaps you could deal with the issue of language. It could be as simple as having a man in the middle of two signs, one English, one French and being pulled between the two signs. Think outside the box though...there are lots of different issues and this is where you should start. I'm not expecting you to come to class tomorrow with the outline completed but I would like you to have an idea of where you going with the cartoon.

Thank you very much 8 Galli for the amazing party. I know you went to a lot of work to organize it. The cake was amazing! Thank you for decorating the room during your lunch break. I'm sorry that I gave you that Math quiz...but I needed to get that out of the way to continue writing my report cards over the weekend. Hello everyone....Hope you had a good couple of days without me. I will be back tomorrow and I'll need help in the morning because my car is full of books. We spent nearly $10000.00 on books today. Llyod, if the math is too much, don't fret...we can do some of it tomorrow. Sohum, the English will be due on Monday. I do plan to give you a math test tomorrow. It will be a short, problem based test on algebra.

Updated News

As you know, I won't be at school tomorrow or Thursday. I'm at a smartboard conference on Wednesday and a bookfair on Thursday.

Mr. Katsuras will give you the History test tomorrow. It's on Chapters 1-5. Most of the questions on the test are topics we have discussed in class.

I know you'll all be well-behaved for Mr. Katuras and Ms. Graham.

Hopefully, I'll have all the essays marked by Friday when I get back. I will also be taking up the History work that Ms. Graham gives you. Make sure it is complete for Friday.
